Aurora University Campus Public Safety Announces ILEAP Assessment and Public Call-In Session
Aurora, IL – December 2, 2025
Aurora University Campus Public Safety will undergo an Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP) assessment on Friday, December 19, 2025. This assessment is a critical step in ensuring that the department meets the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and service to the campus community.
What is ILEAP and Why It Matters
ILEAP accreditation is a voluntary program that evaluates law enforcement agencies against established best practices in areas such as policies, training, and community engagement. Achieving accreditation demonstrates a commitment to transparency, continuous improvement, and excellence in public safety.
"ILEAP accreditation is more than a certification—it’s a reflection of our dedication to best practices and community trust. We encourage everyone to share their feedback during the phone-in session. Your voice matters in shaping the future of campus safety," said William Davis, Chief of Police at Aurora University Campus Public Safety.
As part of the assessment process, the campus community is invited to participate in a public opinion phone-in session with ILEAP Lead Assessor John Lawson:
Date: Friday, December 19, 2025
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Phone Number: 630-844-5250
Or you can email the Lead Assessor Chief John Lawson at jlawson@harpercollege.edu
