Career Services offers a variety of events throughout the semester. Many events take place via Zoom. Some in-person workshops are held in the McWethy Room, located at the Hill Center for Student Success, at 1433 Prairie Street, just west of the parking garage next to the Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action.

September 10, 2024 - Faculty Workshop: Handshake 101 for Faculty and Staff

Handshake is the online platform AU students use for scheduling advising and career appointments, for job and internship searches, for registering for job fairs, for on-campus student employment, and for sharing resumes with employers.

Join this Zoom session to learn more about Handshake. By understanding the platform, you will be more confident answering student questions and encouraging their use of Handshake.

September 11, 2024 - Workshop: Making Handshake Work for You

September 18, 2024 - Workshop: HACU Federal Internships
McWethy Room | Noon-1 p.m.

HACU (Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities) connects over 500 students to paid federal internships every year. Internships are available in DC and locally. All students are welcome to attend this workshop to learn more about internship opportunities and meet Diana Vasquez, Executive Director of HACU National Internship Program. Representatives from HACU will be available after the workshop to answer specific questions on your application materials. Lunch will be served.

October 3, 2024 - AU Career Fair Prep Sessions
