Check-In Information
In the weeks before your specific move-in date, you will receive an email with detailed instructions regarding the move-in process. During move-in, you will check in with Campus Life, receive/activate your AU student ID, receive your residence hall room key, mail key, and important paperwork, and have the opportunity to obtain a parking pass. All students will be asked to complete a Room Condition Report (RCR) within 72 hours of their move-in. RCRs are essential to ensuring that students are aware of the condition of their room at the time of move-in and are referenced at the conclusion of the academic year for damage billing purposes. To participate in the appeal process for damage charges, students must have completed the RCR of their space within the 72-hour window of moving in.

Check-Out Information
Leading up to an official end-of-the-semester hall closing date, students living in the residence halls will receive communication regarding move-out details via email, hall postings, and floor meetings. All students without an approved break agreement or summer housing contract must check out of the residence halls before 5 p.m. on the date of hall closing.

Students fully moving out of their residence hall room (during or at the end of a semester) must complete a full check-out with their Resident Assistant or another Campus Life staff member. During this check-out, students will have the opportunity to take sole responsibility for any damages in the space, the residence hall room key will be collected, and a digital copy of the student's check-out paperwork will be sent to their AU email. A full assessment of the room will be completed after the conclusion of the academic term, and students will receive notice via email of any damage charges that are being assessed to their spaces with instructions and deadlines regarding the appeal process.
