Step 1: Get Organized
Step 2: Create a StudentAid.gov Account
All contributors (student, spouse, parent) need to create a StudentAid.gov account (also called FSA ID). Click here to create the account.
Step 3: Submit the FAFSA
Submit FAFSA as soon as possible beginning October 1 for maximum consideration of federal, state, and institutional aid.
Complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA to determine your financial aid eligibility for the fall 2025, spring 2026, and summer 2026 semesters.
Complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA to determine your financial aid eligibility for the fall 2024, spring 2025, and summer 2025 semesters.

Once you have filed your FAFSA, you can check your status at any time under the "My Activity" section of your Federal Student Aid account dashboard.
Create a personal Financial Aid file to save your:
StudentAid.gov account (FSA ID) – do not share
Federal tax filing information and W-2
FAFSA submission summary
Step 4: Respond to Requests
FAFSA results will be reviewed by the Office of Financial Aid.
Submit requested items in the "Required Documents" section of Self-Service .
An offer letter will be provided to students who are admitted and submit their FAFSA and other required items, if applicable.
Schedule an appointment with the financial aid staff for help with any of your questions.
Step 5: Summer Financial Aid
Complete Summer Aid Application as soon as possible after November 1.
Make sure the applicable FAFSA is completed.
If eligible for summer financial aid, you will receive an offer letter. You will also be notified if you are not eligible for aid during the summer term. Complete all items marked as "Action Needed" in your Financial Aid Checklist on your Self-Service account to finalize your summer financial aid.
