Pre-Orientation Checklist
Welcome to Aurora University! We’re excited to help you get ready for SOAR: Summer Orientation and Registration.
If you’ve already registered for SOAR, this page outlines the steps you need to complete before attending orientation. Be sure to get started as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and successful transition to AU. You can also learn more about the SOAR schedule and what to expect here.
If you still need to register for SOAR, submit your deposit to secure your spot for fall, then select the SOAR date that works best for you.
The exam helps determine the best math course for you. There’s no penalty for a low score, but try your best for an accurate placement.
How to access the exam:
- Log into Okta.
- Click on Brightspace.
- Click on “Mathematics Placement Exam.”
- When you’re ready, click “Go to Quiz.”
- On the summary page, click “Start Quiz.”
- When you are done, click “Submit.”
Exam instructions:
- The exam is online via Aurora University’s Brightspace system and can be taken anywhere with internet access.
- The exam has 30 multiple-choice questions and a 90-minute time limit.
- No calculator is needed.
- Once you start the exam, you cannot stop or leave the system. You cannot access it again once you exit.
- You can change answers before submitting, but you must submit the exam when finished.
- If you run out of time, it will submit automatically.

- If you plan to live on campus, please complete the housing contract in eRezLife, AU’s housing portal.
- If you are not living on campus, do not complete a housing contract.
- Log into Okta.
- Choose the Self-Service app.
- Click the “Financial Aid” section.
- Review the checklist for items marked as “Action Needed” and complete these steps.

You are required to submit your immunization records to Student Health Services prior to arriving for the first day of class. Records can be submitted beginning in April 2026.
How to submit your immunization records:
- Log into Okta.
- Open the SpartanHealth Portal app.
- Click on “Document Upload” on the green banner at the top of the page.
- Upload your immunization records, then click “Save.”
- You will receive a notification that your document was successfully uploaded.
- To check the status of your record, please click on “My Profile” on the green banner at the top of the page.
If you are a student-athlete, in addition to submitting your immunization records to Student Health Services, you are also required to submit additional health information and forms to AU’s Athletic Training staff. You will receive instructions for this from Athletic Training in June and throughout the summer.
