Admission Requirements
All candidates seeking admission to the program must:
- Hold a current Illinois Teaching Professional Educator License (PEL) and currently be under contract as a full-time classroom teacher.
- Complete the Graduate Application for Admission.
- Submit official transcripts* showing a bachelor’s degree and any graduate coursework.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or a graduate degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, both based on a 4.0 scale.
- Submit a current resume documenting leadership experience and at least two years of teaching or school support staff experience prior to the start of their first semester.
Once all the above items are submitted, a personal interview will be conducted by a panel of Aurora University faculty. As part of the interview, you will be asked to complete a timed writing sample.
*Most institutions use Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse to send transcripts. If your college or university does not use either, please have your official transcripts sent to AU-Etranscripts@aurora.edu or the mailing address below.
