Student Information Release Authorization

All students must create a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) access code to be used as a form of identification when contacting the university. Students may also designate specific people to whom the university may provide information.

To submit a FERPA Authorization to Release Information form, students log into Self-Service through Aurora University's Okta single sign-on service. Students should then access the "Students" menu and access the link for "FERPA Authorization to Release Information" under the "User Options" heading. Students will then create a unique access code of five to nine characters as well as list any person(s) who should also have access to specific information. Access codes may be requested by any university employee before providing information to students, or their designated person(s), as a way of verifying identity.
