Hand-building with clay and mostly lidded forms, has been my sanctuary and source of inspiration during the past months of social distancing. Forming clay is a calming and absorbing ritual, with contemplation in form and function. Such a pleasure to the eye and hand.
La construcción a mano con arcilla y formas en su mayoría tapadas, ha sido mi santuario y fuente de inspiración durante los últimos meses de distanciamiento social. Formar arcilla es un ritual relajante y absorbente, con contemplación en forma y función. Un placer para la vista y la mano.
Artist Biography / Biografía del artista:
Since 2001, Georgia Schwender has been the curator of the Fermilab Art Gallery and the founder of the artist-in-residence program at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Batavia, IL). She went to the Art Institute of Boston to study art and has been immersed in the art world for as long as she can remember.
Desde 2001, Georgia Schwender ha sido curadora de la Galería de Arte Fermilab y fundadora del programa de artistas en residencia en Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Batavia, IL). Fue al Art Institute of Boston para estudiar arte y ha estado inmersa en el mundo del arte desde que tiene memoria.
