Position Purpose:

The Student Services Coordinator supports learning as a key member of the Strategic Partnership team, responsible for coordinating a wide array of services and programs that facilitate student enrollment, engagement, success, and transition into bachelor and master-degree university center programs. This role demands a high level of organization, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders within the university and at the university centers. The coordinator will manage, schedule, and host programmatic information sessions, orientation, and registration events, and liaise with members of the university center staff, main campus offices, and colleges to ensure seamless service delivery to students. The scope of this position may expand to include additional university center locations over time.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Program Scheduling and Management: In collaboration with university center staff, organize, schedule, and manage the logistics for programmatic information sessions, classroom visits, orientation programs, and registration events, ensuring that all activities are executed smoothly and effectively.
  • Collaboration with University Staff: Coordinate closely with members of the university center staff, main campus offices, and academic colleges to align programmatic efforts and ensure consistent communication and service delivery to students.
  • Outreach and Communication: Serve as a concierge for prospective students, their parents, and the community providing detailed information about programmatic outcomes, requirements, and the value of the university experience.
  • Service Coordination: Work in tandem with main campus offices to coordinate services that support student needs, including but not limited to academic advising, financial aid, and student wellness.
  • Enrollment Support: Maintain significant knowledge on the admission process and criteria for each program, along with the ability to provide unofficial transcript evaluations and advise students accordingly.
  • Schedule Planning: Collaborate with academic colleges to coordinate academic schedule planning, ensure that course offerings meet the needs of students and align with academic goals.
  • Support to Senior Director: Provide ongoing support to the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, assisting with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing programs, promoting the Aurora University brand, deepening the relationship with university center partners, as well as growth and offerings.

Essential Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, or significant experience in education counseling or higher education. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in student services, academic advising, admissions, or a related area within a higher education setting.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of effectively engaging with students, parents, and university staff.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies, procedures, and best practices related to student services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  • Proficiency in student information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to understand the education and professional development needs within the district and share key learnings and perspectives with Aurora University leadership.

Special Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and driving record which meets institutional requirements is required.
  • Requires travel between campus locations or to attend off-site meetings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment within a university setting, with at least three days per week spent at university center locations.
  • Expected equivalency of 40 hours per week, but days/hours may vary as needed. Hybrid or work from home employment will be considered if candidate can demonstrate the ability to fulfill this role effectively off-site.
  • Requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and programs.
