Professional Licensure Pass Rates
Aurora University discloses the following pass rate data for professional licensure examinations to satisfy the requirements set forth by the Higher Learning Commission (Assumed Practices, Policy Number: CRRT.C.10.010).
These pass rates are for programs that prepare students for a licensure, certification, or other qualifying examination. The data provided below demonstrates the extent of the data which is available to the institution.
Athletic Training — Board of Certification Exam
Aurora University is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) through the 2027-2028 academic year. Students who successfully complete the requirements for the Master of Science degree in Athletic Training are eligible to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam.
The table below provides both the first-time and all-time pass rates for the BOC exam over past three years along with the 3-year aggregate.

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
Aurora University’s baccalaureate and master’s social work programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Students can complete the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) track within the Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work programs, preparing them to take the CADC exam through the Illinois Certification Board (ICB).

Education
Aurora University’s initial teacher licensure programs are approved by the Illinois State Board of Education. To obtain a Professional Educator License, students must complete a Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) and the appropriate content test or language proficiency test through the Illinois Licensure Testing System.

Nursing — NCLEX-RN®
Aurora University’s baccalaureate nursing and master’s entry to nursing practice (MENP) programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). After successful completion of the respective program, students are qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination-RN (NCLEX-RN), required for licensure as a registered professional nurse.
