Health and wellness professionals provide education and support to individuals and communities looking to improve their overall health. They work in a variety of environments, such as healthcare settings, community organizations, and private businesses. If you are passionate about helping others improve the quality of their lives, a career in health and wellness is for you.
The Health and Wellness major at Aurora University takes an interdisciplinary approach to health education and community health. You will complete coursework in a variety of topics, including personal health, community health, nutrition, fitness and exercise, and healthy behaviors. This allows you to develop a holistic understanding of health and wellness, as well as the skills necessary to educate others in the areas of physical, mental, and social health.
As a Health and Wellness major, you will be paired with a student success advisor and a faculty mentor who can help you navigate your academic career and achieve your goal of becoming a Health and Wellness professional. You will also have the opportunity to customize your studies to align with your ideal work setting through elective courses. Examples of elective options include:
