Collection Policy
Selection of materials for the Archives is based on informational content without regard to format. We will consider, but reserve the right to refuse, materials that meet the following criteria:
- Must be non-current, inactive materials with potential historical value.
- Must be original materials (duplicates may be accepted at the discretion of the archivist).
- Must be identifiable (especially photographs and news clippings).
- Must be in good condition.
Archival materials to be collected include, but are not limited to, the following types:
- Accreditation records
- Administrative files (university, school, department, program)
- Alumni organization records
- Annual reports
- Audits
- Awards
- Board of Trustees records
- Building plans or blueprints
- Clippings
- Committee files
- Constitutions and bylaws
- Curriculum
- Events
- Faculty papers
- Fellowships
- Grant proposals and reports (funded)
- Honors
- Maps and site plans
- Organizational charts
- Planning reports and documents
- Policies and procedures manuals
- Policy statements and rules
- Press releases
- Programs and presentations
- Promotional materials
- Publications (of the university and those associated with it)
- Scholarships
- Student activities and organizations
- Studies of the university or its departments
