Why minor in Global Studies?

In an increasingly interconnected world, understanding global systems, cultures, and challenges is more important than ever. Through a minor in Global Studies, you will learn to thoughtfully engage with international issues and diverse communities, as well as become an informed, engaged citizen who can make a meaningful impact.

Why minor in Global Studies at AU?

As a Global Studies minor at AU, you will explore the origins and development of globalization and examine how economic, political, social, cultural, and environmental systems connect across borders. You will gain a broad, interdisciplinary perspective through coursework grounded in history, sociology, political science, economics, communication, and more. You will develop a global mindset and build:

Experiential learning

Through the Office of Global Engagement, you can earn elective credit for the Global Studies minor while traveling. Study away opportunities allow you to see what you learn in the classroom come to life while immersed in a different culture and/or language.
