How to Apply

  1. Are you ready to take the next step toward your success? Apply to Aurora University or use the Common App.*

    *Common App can be used for Aurora campus freshmen and transfer undergraduate students.

  2. Submit your official high school transcripts and record of all previous college work to the Office of Admission. Please include your military transcripts. Official transcripts should be sent to:

    If possible your high school or college can send your official, encrypted transcripts electronically to AU-ETranscripts@aurora.edu.

  3. Aurora University is test-optional, meaning that the submission of SAT or ACT scores are not required for admission. If you believe your test score is reflective of your academic abilities, we encourage you to submit your official SAT or ACT scores through the testing corporation (ACT College Code = 0950; SAT College Code = 1027). We can also consider test scores official if they are sent through your high school transcripts.*

    *Homeschooled students must submit an SAT or ACT score.

  4. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA; Federal School Code for FAFSA = 001634).

  5. Apply for VA Educational Benefits:

    You can apply for your VA benefits online. Applications for educational benefits typically take up to 30 days.

    Once the VA has processed your request, please provide the following to the Financial Aid Office through the online secure portal.

    • Certificate of Eligibility for VA benefits
    • DD-214 (Member 1 or Member 4; not required for spouses/dependents or active duty)
    • Veteran Benefit Certification Request*

      *Please note that the Veteran Benefit Certification Request must be completed each term you wish to utilize your benefit.
