Mission Central: Spartan Support
Throughout its history, the Aurora University community has come together to help one another.
We understand that life can be challenging and, at times, you may need additional support. AU is dedicated to helping connect you with the resources you need to succeed during your time as a student.
From navigating financial emergencies to finding housing, food, and clothing, you can find support through the following programs.
AU has a permanently established fund to assist enrolled students and employees meet essential expenses due to temporary or unexpected hardship. The 1893 Emergency Fund provides short-term financial assistance for unforeseen expenses. Monies distributed from the 1893 Fund do not require repayment. If you are currently receiving financial aid, please be aware that receiving assistance from the 1893 Fund may affect your financial aid package.
If you are struggling with housing or food insecurities, our Housing and Opportunities that are Useful for Students' Excellence (HOUSE) liaison is available to help provide you with information and resources.
Libby’s Place is an on-campus food pantry that offers non-perishable food and toiletries weekly. Perishable foods, such as eggs, cheese, and milk are also offered twice a month.
Spartan Attic is an on-campus clothes closet that provides complimentary professional men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories, and has a steamer available for use.
Tango’s Pantry is a student-run, on-campus pet food pantry that offers free dog, cat, and fish food. The pantry is available to students every third Tuesday and Thursday of the month in the Wackerlin Center and is sponsored by Unleashed, AU’s Human-Animal Studies student organization.
