Coronavirus (COVID-19) - 13 April 2020
13 April 2020
COVID-19 Advisory 17.0
A message from Sharon Maxwell, Vice President for Finance:
On 30 March 2020, we provided an update about various financial matters with the promise of more information to come. Today’s update is to provide additional details regarding room and board refunds.
This week, the university will begin processing refunds for the unused portion of spring room and board charges. To keep things simple, we will use 13 March as the cutoff date.
You can expect to see a credit to your spring bill in the next 3-5 business days.
The room and board credit will first be applied to your outstanding spring balance. If the credit is more than you owe, you will receive a refund. If you already have a zero balance, you will receive the entire amount as a refund.
Cash refunds will be processed within two weeks from the date the credit appears on your statement. We will follow our usual policies which can be found by clicking this link here and scrolling down to Overpayment and Refund Policy.
Due to the campus closure, all refund checks will be mailed. To make sure you receive your refund as quickly as possible, we strongly urge you to either confirm your mailing address of record or enroll in Electronic Refunds via the Online Student Account Center portal.
If you still have a balance due after the credit is applied, please remember we have suspended all late fees, registration holds, and collection activities. We will continue to work with you individually on a plan that suits your circumstances.
If you have any questions, please contact Student Accounts at firstname.lastname@example.org or 630-844-5470 for individual assistance. GWC students may also contact Kailley Harmon at email@example.com or 262-245-8586.
