Coronavirus (COVID-19) - 19 March 2020

19 March 2020
COVID-19 Advisory 11.0

A message from Dr. Rebecca Sherrick:

I know that yesterday’s news about an AU student testing positive for COVID-19 was distressing to many in our community. I’m sure you understand that protecting the privacy of our students, faculty, and staff must be a top priority for us. We can confirm, however, that this student has not been on campus since the start of the Spring semester. Following guidance from public health authorities, the student is in self-isolation off campus. We are in active contact with state and local public health officials and are following their guidance.

I want to reiterate that if you suspect you have or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, seek medical counsel immediately by calling your health care provider. More information on this is available in our “Resources” page.

All of us are living with a new reality as a result of COVID-19. Please take good care of yourself and those you love. Together we will move through this crisis into a positive future. My thoughts and my prayers are with you.

Remember, though our campuses are closed, we are committed to keeping the AU community safe and informed. Rest assured that we are sharing information from public officials as we receive it. If you have any further questions about AU's response to COVID-19, you can contact me at sherrick@aurora.edu.
