Coronavirus (COVID-19) - 18 March 2020

18 March 2020
COVID-19 Advisory 10.0 – Updated

A message from Dr. Rebecca Sherrick:

Earlier today, we learned that an Aurora University graduate student from the Aurora campus has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). This is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the AU community. As you know, all of our campuses are now closed. We made this decision before learning of this particular case.

Following guidance from public health authorities, the student is in self-isolation off campus. We are in active contact with state and local public health officials and are following their guidance.

As a reminder, if you suspect you have or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, seek medical counsel immediately by calling your health care provider. All of us are living with a new reality as a result of COVID-19. Please take good care of yourself and those you love. Together we will move through this crisis into a positive future. My thoughts and my prayers are with you. Remember, though our campuses are closed, you may contact me with questions and suggestions at sherrick@aurora.edu.
