Graduate Assistant - Women's Hockey

Aurora University is an independent, comprehensive institution founded in 1893 offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Position Purpose: Aurora University, a NCAA Division III institution and member of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA), seeks applications for a graduate student assistant coach position with the women’s hockey program. Successful candidate must pursue a graduate degree while serving as a graduate assistant. The graduate assistant includes a tuition waiver and a stipend. Appointment date: summer 2019. Essential Job Functions:

  1. Coaching responsibilities will be assigned by the head coach and include but may not be limited to: coaching and instruction, practice and game preparation, recruiting, video breakdown, marketing, academic monitoring, and coordinating volunteer and community events.
  2. Recruitment of perspective student-athletes which will include off campus travel within the United States and Canada.
  3. Perform equipment manager duties.
  4. Coordinate team travel and logistics.
  5. Perform game operations functions as assigned.
  6. Coach at all scheduled games and practices.
  7. Operate digital video editing software and equipment.

Essential Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree


  • Collegiate playing experience preferred

Special Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and driving record which meets institutional requirements is required.
  • Independently travel within the United States and Canada. Valid passport is required.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and maintain a flexible schedule.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to endure physically strenuous work-outs and physical exercise on a daily basis, including standing and/or walking for long periods, bending, stooping, lifting; manual dexterity; lifting of up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to move about campus and between locations.
