Creative Director

Position Purpose: The Creative Director supports learning by strengthening the university’s reputation, support, and sustainability. He or she envisions and executes the university’s coordinated visual identity strategy.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Leads the ongoing evolution of the university’s visual identity.
  2. Evaluates trends, assesses new data, and keeps up-to-date with the latest marketing and design techniques.
  3. Oversees the creation of all design materials, ensuring quality and adherence to the Aurora University brand and sub brands.
  4. Partners with other departments in project conceptualization, creation, and production.
  5. Works with internal team members to implement and improve production processes, systems, and procedures.
  6. Serves as the primary manager of print and mailing vendors.
  7. Supervises internal graphic designers, the internal multimedia team, and freelance designers as needed.

Essential Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required.


  • Five or more years of relevant experience.


  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent graphic design skills.
  • Solid understanding of design, copy, and web practices.
  • Experience executing a brand identity.
  • Experience managing print processes and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use a computer terminal.
  • Ability to move about campus.
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
