Diploma and Transcript Info
Diplomas and Transcripts
Once you have completed the requirements for your degree and satisfied all outstanding financial obligations, your diploma will be released for delivery according to the Registrar’s Office timeline.
Diplomas for fall graduates will be mailed approximately March 1 following the end of the fall term.
Diplomas for spring graduates will be mailed approximately August 1 following the end of the spring term.
Diplomas for summer graduates will be mailed approximately November 1 following the end of the summer term
The diploma reflects the degree earned, i.e. Bachelor of Science. Majors and minors are noted on the official transcript.
Official transcripts can be requested four weeks after the end of your graduating semester. These transcripts confirm that all degree requirements have been met and indicate the earned degree. An official transcript is the verification document typically asked for by employers. All transcripts are requested from the Registrar's office. To request an official transcript, please fill out the request by logging in to WebAdvisor. Please be sure to select the option "After Degree" to ensure your degree is noted on the transcript.
Students that need to update their diploma mailing address (address after commencement) must send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org from their AU email address. This will not update your current mailing address in WebAdvisor. Those wishing to update their mailing address should do so in WebAdvisor only.
Diploma/Ceremony Name Policy
The diploma name must match the legal first and last name on file with Aurora University. Middle names may be removed or abbreviated to the first letter of the middle name. If changes to your legal name need to be made, complete a “Legal Name Change Request” form with appropriate official documentation (i.e. marriage certificate, divorce document, court order, Naturalization papers, passport, government issued ID, or birth certificate) and submit to the Registrar’s Office.
International students must match the diploma name to the exact name as it appears on your passport. Various international governments and verification agencies will not accept a student’s diploma as an official document if the name does not match the name on your university record and passport. If changes to your legal name need to be made, complete a “Legal Name Change Request” form with appropriate official documentation and submit to the Registrar’s Office.
The ceremony name (name listed in the program and announced at Commencement) may be your chosen or preferred name. Inappropriate use, including but not limited to avoiding a legal obligation, misrepresentation, and the use of offensive language, including profanity or language that has the effect of mockery, may be cause for denying the request. For more information please contact the Registrar Office at 630-844-5462 or email@example.com.
