Course Description:

How do athletes prepare for the 2016 games in Rio De Janiero? Learn how elite athletes train for competition, the effects of exercise at high altitudes and the physiological and biomechanical differences between untrained and trained athletes. The trip includes education excursions in the morning followed by hiking and exploration trips in the afternoons.

Prerequisites: BIO1060 or BIO2660

Course dates/times: May 9-20, 2016, on campus from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Trip dates: May 23-29, 2016

Trip costs: $1,350 to include airfare, board and lodging, ground transportation and fees in addition to tuition of $2,080
