Professional Development/CAPP Program

Recognizing the importance of staff development and the “transformative power of education” in enhancing school improvement, Aurora University works closely with an array of school districts, regional offices of education, along with educational and cultural institutions to establish teacher in-service partnerships. Through this collaboration, the university strives, in cooperation with partnership staff, to address the unique staff development needs of its partnership affiliates. During the last academic year, more than 100 partnerships presented more than 400 courses to approximately 2,784 teachers through this partnership model, operating under a formal inter-institutional agreement between the university and the partnership, to ensure qualified instructors and rigorous graduate credit course content.  Aurora University endeavors to manifest its mission of fostering “Excellence Through Collaborative Communities of Learners.
