Chemistry is central to science and at the heart of human experience. The study of matter and its transformations is essential to understanding biological sciences, human health and the environment. Students in this program will complete a two-term general chemistry sequence, a two-term organic chemistry sequence, and an additional chemistry course dealing with a more specialized topic. Chemistry lectures and laboratories will prepare students for understanding life processes at the molecular level and thus strongly support the biology and health science majors. Students will also develop valuable skills in laboratory research, computation and instrumentation.
