Aurora University is a private, independent, comprehensive institution founded in 1893 offering Bachelor, Master’s and Doctoral degrees.  The university is committed to helping students identify what matters and build their lives around it.  We serve over 4000 undergraduate and graduate students at our two campuses  which are located in Aurora, Illinois, 40 miles west of Chicago and on the shores of Geneva Lake in Williams Bay, Wisconsin.  George Williams College is one of four colleges of Aurora University.  Additionally, we have an education center in Woodstock, Illinois.  All positions listed here are located at the Williams Bay, Wisconsin campus.

We seek candidates who are committed educators who will foster student learning in and outside the classroom and collaborate with other faculty members and College staff to sustain our engaging campus learning environment.  Our undergraduate general education curriculum, The Williams Plan, includes thematic courses on Social Entrepreneurship and Responsibility and offers students an integrated, experiential education in an ideal setting.  As a private institution, we expect faculty to be involved in the lives of students through mentoring, student support, enrollment initiatives and other activities relating to the college experience.  These positions will require some weekend and evening hours teaching and participating in College programs and activities with students and faculty colleagues.

 GEORGE WILLIAMS COLLEGE FACULTY 2013-14

Global Studies/ Social Entrepreneurship: One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor
George Williams College of Aurora University seeks a full-time faculty member for a One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor position.  The Visiting Assistant Professor will teach courses in the general education curriculum including grant-writing, fundraising and non-profit management and will assist in the design and implementation of a major in non-profit management and global studies.

Preferred Candidates will have the following credentials:

  • Ph.D. in Non-Profit Management, International Studies, or related field;
  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level;
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment with responsibility for grant-writing and fundraising;
  • Experience in developing new programs and courses at the undergraduate level;
  • Commitment to integrated and interactive learning models.

Sociologist: One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor
George Williams College of Aurora University seeks a full-time faculty member for a One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Sociology.  The Visiting Assistant Professor will teach courses in the general education curriculum and will assist in the design and implementation of a Criminal Justice major.

Preferred Candidates will have the following credentials:

  • Ph.D. in Sociology or related field;
  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level;
  • Experience in developing new programs and courses at the undergraduate level;
  • Commitment to integrated and interactive learning models.

Social Work Faculty Position: Tenure Track
George Williams College of Aurora University seeks a full-time, tenure-track faculty member who will teach clinical theory and methods courses and supervise student clinical practice experiences at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  The College offers BSW, MSW, and DSW programs in Williams Bay, WI through the Aurora University School of Social Work in Aurora, IL.

Preferred Candidates will have the following credentials:

  • MSW from an accredited school of social work, and a doctoral degree in social work or a related field;
  • Five years or more of clinical practice experience in community agencies;
  • Prior teaching experience in BSW, MSW, and or DSW/Ph.D. programs;
  • Experience supervising student clinical practicums;
  • Commitment to integrated and interactive learning models.
