Accident/Sickness Insurance

All full-time undergraduate students and resident students are required to participate in the student accident/sickness insurance plan.  This plan provides benefits for hospitalization as well as out-patient treatment. The charge for accident/sickness insurance is $234.00 per semester. Students covered under an outside health insurance plan may waive the insurance charge, see below for details.

All Aurora University students are eligible to enroll in the accident/sickness insurance plan, information regarding coverage is available from the Student Insurance Coordinator. Insurance Application Deadlines
**Insurance applications are required each academic year.**

• Fall 2008 and Spring 2009: August 29, 2008 by 4:30 p.m.(satisfies application process for 07-08 academic year)
• Spring 2009 – only: January 16, 2009 by 4:30 p.m.

If a student is covered under an outside health insurance plan they may waive the insurance charge by submitting a signed waiver form and providing proof of health insurance (copy of health insurance card, front and back). These documents must be on file with the Student Insurance Coordinator by the published deadlines. Waiver forms are available from the Student Insurance Coordinator (Wilkinson Hall, Lower Level) or may be downloaded (Acrobat.pdf file).

Accident Insurance

Accident insurance is available by request to all students presently attending Aurora University. The charge for accident insurance is $55.00 per semester.

Summer Insurance

Excess Athletic Accident Insurance

Intercollegiate athletic participation insurance is excess coverage, with a $250 “disappearing” deductible, and provides coverage for intercollegiate participation accidents after all other primary and secondary (family, employer, etc.) insurance coverage(s) have been considered & paid. Insurance claims must be filed with the Student Insurance Coordinator, located in Wilkinson Hall, Lower Level.
