Registration for Classes:
Pre-registration and registration takes place at specified times
each term. The process involves two stages:
-
Meeting with
a faculty advisor
-
Actual registration
for classes
The advisement
period begins the sixth week of each term for the term following. Advisement
appointments are taken in order of class rank, with seniors advising and
registering first in order to help them get into classes required for
graduation. All degree-seeking undergraduates are required to consult
with an academic advisor before registering for classes.
Photo I.D. Card:
I.D. cards are issued initially and valid each term the student is
enrolled. The I.D.cards are necessary to check books from the library,
to cash a check, to dine in the cafeteria, and to do a host of other
things on campus. There is a $35 replacement charge for lost or damaged
cards for resident students. Non-resident students will be charged a
$25 replacement fee for lost or damaged cards.
Once I.D. cards
are issued, they are valid each term the student is enrolled.

Reservations (Buildings and Rooms):
Use of Office
Buildings:
Buildings are available for student use during regular hours when
use of facilities has been cleared with the appropriate administrators
and arrangements made with the Scheduling Secretary at (630) 844-5460.
Students are permitted to remain in a building after it has been closed
if they are participating in an organized group activity and a faculty
sponsor accompanies the group. The sponsor must be indicated when the
request is made for use of the building. Academic buildings may be used
on Sundays or holidays by special arrangement.
Reservation
Procedure AU Sponsored Events:
Reservations must be made with the Scheduling Secretary and should
be made at least four weeks in advance of intended use to allow for provision
of equipment or services.
Users should also
check with the master calendar, in care of the Scheduling Secretary, which
gives details such as time, place, event, etc. to see if any other event
is scheduled for the day or evening desired. An advisor's signature is
required for all events and scheduled meetings.
There are many
factors to consider when planning an event. (A list is available from
the Scheduling Secretary.) If the needs are not complex, the arrangements
can be made quickly. In the case of a major event, referral will be made
to the appropriate persons.
Reservations
Procedure: Outside Users:
All outside uses should contract the Scheduling Secretary in the Registrar's
Office to coordinate reservations on campus. If an outside group is being
represented by a member of the faculty or staff, the reservation should
still be made through the Scheduling Secretary to ensure that proper unlocks
and maintenance arrangements have been made.
The Stanley
H. Perry Theatre:
The Stanley H. Perry Theatre is an intimate, 190 seat, air conditioned
facility designed for drama, music, lecture, and film presentations. All
uses of the Perry Theatre must be cleared through the Scheduling Secretary.
Transcripts:
The registrar can send a student's transcript to schools, employers,
and other institutions. Transcripts may be ordered by completing a transcript
request from at the Registrar's Office. The first two transcripts are
free, after that there is a $8 charge per transcript. Over-the-counter
requests — defined as same-day service — are at a fee of
$15 and may only be ordered Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and
4:00 p.m. A student's account balance with the University must be current.
(See: Transcripts in the University Catalog.) Now available on this website
is an online version of the official transcript
request form that you can print out and return to the Office of the
Registrar.
