What attracted you to AU? I was recruited to play volleyball, and when I visited I loved it. AU offered my major, and I was hooked!

What do you feel makes AU unique? The small community feel, and the family-like atmosphere.

What is your favorite class? Why? I love biology, and our class is always having interesting discussions. It is a good mix of challenging and fun.

Who is your favorite professor? What class did you take with that professor? Sara Gerend is my favorite professor so far; she was my English 1020 teacher, and she is the nicest person ever. I learned and enjoyed her class so much.

Favorite quote? "You must love yourself before you can love others."

What is playing on your i-Pod? "Crazier" by Taylor Swift

What advice would you give a first-year or prospective student? Relax and go out on a limb and meet new people. It really helps!

When did you realize AU was the place for you? My senior year in high school, when I realized I wanted to stay close to home.

The AU community is a close-knit group of students, professors and alumni. What's it like? It is very reassuring to know that your professor knows you personally and wants you to succeed. It also makes the transition 10 times better!

What is your favorite part about AU? In the fall and spring, just hanging out on the Quad with my friends.

What kinds of hands-on work experience have you had as an AU student? I play volleyball, and I just got a peer advisor job.

What do you do in your free time? I love to listen to music, hang out with friends and family, go to the movies, play Mario Kart on Wii and take naps.

What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends? Going downtown, to the beach, baseball games, and hanging out.

Why did you choose to come to AU and get involved with athletics? I love playing volleyball and can't stop.

What do you like most about your team sport? My best friends and I were introduced through volleyball.

How does Aurora's Division III level of athletic competition interact with the other aspects of your collegiate lifestyle? It has made me grow as a person and helped me learn to balance school and volleyball.
