Katie Student ProfileMajor: Psychology
Hometown: Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

What attracted you to AU? I was attracted to AU for the women's soccer program. Aurora is one of the few schools that focuses and rewards the student-athlete for excelling in the classroom as well as on the field.

What is your favorite tradition or event at AU? The "300 Pack the Place" events are always great ways to meet people and show school spirit while our Spartans are playing down on the field. It's really exciting to see a bunch of fans wearing shirts that say "We Are 300." It makes the athletes playing feel proud and supported.

Where is the best place to study? The best place to study is on the second floor of the library in one of the desks in the corner. There are always a ton of people in the library!

What kinds of hands-on experience have you had as a student at AU? I've done lots of community work through the Honors Program, Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Psi Chi psychology organization. I'm always busy. My hands are never idle.

What do you plan to do after you graduate? I'm applying to doctorate programs as well as medical school. I'm going to be a psychiatrist.

What do you do for fun? I love to work out and play soccer! If I'm not doing either of those, then I'm usually at one of my friends' houses watching TV. ("Rock of Love" and "Real Housewives" are personal favorites!)

What is playing on your iPod? The "Slumdog Millionaire" soundtrack. It's an awesome CD for working out.
