What do you feel makes AU unique? The enclosed campus. There aren't any roads going through the campus, which makes it feel more inclusive.

What is your favorite class? Why? Assessment and Approaches to Elementary Education. We did a lot of great lesson plans and activities. It gave me a lot of ideas for my future classroom.

Who is your favorite professor? What class did you take with that professor? Deborah Stevens, Methods of Content. Very insightful and gets you motivated to be a teacher.

What do you hope to be doing after AU? Teaching first or second grade.

What advice would you give a first-year or prospective student? Be social, try to get out there and make new friends.

When did you realize AU was the place for you? Sophomore year. I just felt like I was at home and familiar with the campus. Peer advising helped, too.

The AU community is a close-knit group of students, professors and alumni. What's it like? Everyone is very friendly and personal. They truly care about you as an individual.

What is your favorite AU tradition? Homecoming. Being a peer advisor, we get to meet alumni and hear lots of fun, old stories.

What is your favorite part about AU? The friendliness of the campus. All of the professors and students are very kind and make you feel welcome.

What kinds of hands-on work experience have you had as an AU student? I am involved in the Communities in Schools after-school program.
