George Williams College Stages Strauss Operetta at Music by the Lake Williams Bay, Wis.—“Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss, the most popular operetta in the world, was performed during George Williams College of Aurora University’s eighth annual Music by the Lake series July 26 and 27. Lawrence Johnson (Gabriel von Eisenstein) of Cedar City, Utah. (left), and Jennifer Townshend (Rosalinda) of Chicago, were principals. The opera’s cast also included soloists, a 65-voice opera chorus and a 39-piece orchestra. The performances were held in The Ferro Pavilion located on the shores of Geneva Lake in Williams Bay, Wis. Christine Flasch, executive director of Music by the Lake, directed and conducted the performance.
