The second-annual fundraiser, a class project, was held April 19 at Fox Bend Golf Club in Oswego.

Erin Bauer, Hesed House director of development, visited the campus last week to receive a check from Carol Hammerle, PE instructor, and Alicia Cosky, director, School of Health and Physical Education.

The benefit was planned and produced by about 20 AU students in Hammerle’s Sports Management class.

Bauer said the contribution will help the shelter’s capital campaign.

The outing featured 18 holes of golf, tee prizes and an awards dinner with a silent auction and prize raffles. Awards were presented to the top two foursomes. Top men's foursome was Justin Tugman, Ted Hans, Todd Perkins, and Jim Thompson with 14-under-par score of 58. The leading women's foursome included Nancy Demmith, Donna Davis, Judy Cmeyla, and Tina Palmer with a 4-under-par score of 68.

A third annual benefit golf outing is planned for April 2008. The beneficiary will be announced.
