Transfer Student Admission Requirements
- Complete 15 semester hours of transferable work
- Earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0 at previous colleges/universities
- Submit an application and official transcripts (high school transcripts are required for applicants with less than 30 semester hours)
Our College of Education, School of Social Work and School of Nursing have additional admission requirements that you must meet before entering these programs.
How do your credits transfer?
Aurora University will only accept credit if it meets the following criteria:
- Earned from regionally accredited schools
- Has a grade of at least a C-
- Compares to credit offered at AU
- Applies to programs offered by AU
Aurora University will accept up to 68 transferable credit hours from community colleges. Students who have earned an associate's (A.A./A.S.) degree from a regionally accredited college may have met all lower-divison general education requirements. Students who do not have an associate's degree will be required to complete all AU General Education requirements, either through transfer coursework and/or AU coursework.
