Aurora University stays focused on its core mission of teaching and learning. We reject the notion that a big price tag equates with academic quality and do not engage in the "facilities arms race" that consumes too many universities and colleges today. Each year, faculty and staff study ways to deepen and broaden the educational experiences of our students.

AU's commitment to affordability is evidenced by:

• Tuition increases averaging between 3 and 4 percent since 2000
• Professional advising allowing most students to graduate in four years
• Generous merit scholarships and need-based financial aid
• Commitment of university resources to initiatives directly related to student learning
• Creation of the Franklin Fund, a special fund to assist AU families confronting serious financial hardships
