Teaching Philosophy
Since 2000, I’ve had the opportunity to use my social work skills within a variety of health care environments, including early intervention (0–3 developmental delays and disabilities); a federally qualified health center pediatric clinic (serving children with ADD/ADHD); public health (coordinating a SAMHSA grant-funded infant mental health initiative) and hospital work (children and adolescents hospitalized with psychiatric diagnoses). As a 10-year hospice volunteer, I’ve come to appreciate the need for dignity in every client and family across the life span, and I work to assist students in their resolve to master social work principles as they prepare to serve clients in the decades to come.
