SPN3880-01 Travel/Study: Spanish Language Immersion: Costa Rica

4 semester hours

This advanced Spanish course will entail a variety of Spanish language and cultural experiences via immersion that cannot be duplicated in a classroom setting. Each student will be expected to participate in and discuss a variety of experiences and activities in spoken Spanish and write reflectively in grammatically correct Spanish. Excursions will encourage critical-thinking skills and the active use of the Spanish language. Advanced and individualized vocabulary will be taught via experiences, and participants will be expected to use the Spanish language exclusively.

Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.

May 7 – 8 and May 22-23 from 8:00 a.m. – noon.

Trip dates:
May 10-18, 2012

Trip costs:
$2,040 includes airfare, board and lodging, ground transportation and fees in addition to tuition of $1,900.

Trip deposit: 
$500 due January 13, 2012.
