I came to Aurora University after 20 years as a newspaper and magazine journalist, most recently as managing editor at U.S. Catholic. I have a bachelor's degree in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame and a master's degree in theological studies, with an emphasis on religion and the news media, from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern University. With a decade of experience editing professional writers, I enjoy helping students improve the clarity and organization of their writing and educating students to become critical consumers of media. I continue to write for many publications and am the author of "As We Wait: Spiritual Reflections for Adopting Parents" (ACTA, 2009).
