I love working with students. I feel I learn as much from them, as they learn from me. I prefer an interactional style of teaching. I share my life experiences, and most students share theirs. I taught at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, for 35 years, in the social work department, before coming to Aurora University. Students truly keep me young, and inspired! I have worked as a practitioner in a variety of public and private social work agencies, and have chaired 19 social work accreditation site visits to other campuses for the Council on Social work Education. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am fortunate to be the author of four social work textbooks that are widely used in colleges and universities. I have authored several other books, and have had 45 articles published in professional journals.
